Follow Pre-Production Sample Policy

To ensure quality and customer satisfaction, this policy outlines the rules and requirements on when pre-production samples (pre-pros) are required.

When Is a Pre-Pro Required?

Pre-production samples are required under the following conditions:

  • Order Value: For any single product order (apparel and hardgoods) with a value of $25,000 or more.
    • i.e. if there is $25,000 worth of the same t-shirt on an order, this item would require a pre-pro
  • New Customer Re-Print: For new customers requesting a reprint of a previously produced item
  • Team Member Discretion: Based on their assessment of the project's needs and risks, team members should exercise their discretion to require pre-pros in situations not explicitly covered by this policy.
    • i.e. large quantities, high-value items, extensive back and forth with the customer on sizing

Note: Though not required, it is recommended that a pre-production sample be produced for a new customer who is placing their first order and it includes embroidery, regardless of the order value.

Alternative to a Physical Pre-Pro

If there is insufficient time to produce a physical pre-production sample, a high-quality photograph of the sample will be required for approval.

Pre-Pro Timelines

  • Physical Pre-Pros: A Pre-Production Sample will be produced in the same timeline as a vendor’s standard production.
    • i.e. if standard production is 10 business days, then the sample will take 10 business days to produce and, if approved, the full order will take another 10 business days to produce
  • Pre-Pro Photos: A Pre-Production Photo will add an additional 3 business days to the full production of the order
    • i.e. if standard production is 10 business days, then, if approved, an order requiring a pre-pro photo will take 13 business days to complete

Waiver of Pre-Production Samples

Customers have the option to waive the requirement for a pre-production sample, provided they submit their request in writing.
